The green processing of technical ceramics is a step in the manufacturing process of ceramic parts in which the raw material is shaped into a preliminary form before being sintered to produce the final ceramic component. The green processing of technical ceramics typically involves the following steps:

Shaping: Shaping is the first step in the green processing of technical ceramics. This can be done using various methods such as injection molding, pressing, or extrusion. In the injection molding method, the ceramic paste is injected into a specially shaped mold and then dried. In pressing, the ceramic paste is pressed into a mold to achieve the desired shape. In extrusion, the ceramic paste is forced through a die to produce elongated shapes.

Drying: After shaping, the green ceramic part must be dried to remove excess water or solvent from the ceramic paste. This can be done in various ways, such as air drying, drying in special drying ovens, or using desiccants.

Machining: After drying, the green ceramic part can be further machined to achieve the desired final shape. This may involve cutting, grinding, drilling, or other machining methods to bring the green part into its final desired form.

Sintering: After green machining, the ceramic part is heated to a high temperature in a sintering process to compact and consolidate it. During sintering, the ceramic particles fuse together, resulting in the final ceramic part with the desired mechanical and physical properties.

It is important to note that green machining of technical ceramics is a critical step that influences the final quality of the ceramic part. It requires specialized knowledge and experience to achieve optimal results, and it is essential to follow the manufacturer’s specific instructions and procedures for green machining of technical ceramics to ensure the desired properties and final quality of the ceramic part.

BSQ TECH GmbH concentrates on the development of designs suitable for ceramics, the selection of materials suitable for the application and the substitution of existing components made of metal or plastic.

In addition to the precision machining of oxidic and non-oxidic ceramic materials in prototype construction as well as in series production, tailor-made solutions for downstream process steps round off the range of services.

Our range of services includes the complete takeover of the production of your parts in green processing, white processing and hard processing.

Grünbearbeitung Drehen

The green processing takes place on dried components that still contain organic additives. It is well suited for the production of individual parts and small series and is also used in large series for the production of shapes that cannot be realized by the primary shaping process, e.g. B. holes transverse to the pressing direction in dry pressing used.

Complicated shapes can be created.
